Since Fiat Games was made-up in 2014 - We've never displayed advertisements in our games. Today, we've finally defeated our will-power. In general, we find ads to be obnoxious, intrusive, and distracting. That's why we've decided to do things a bit differently. Rather than making you watch videos as a penalty if you lose - we've decided to offer you rewards if you win. Currently, the only game with ads is Gridlock.
You'll earn a reward after solving your first puzzle, and every five puzzles thereafter. What will you win? Nobody knows! (Not even me.) But I've seen all kinds of cool shit pop up before, so why not give it a whirl? If you aren't interested in claiming your reward, just dismiss the ad and continue playing. No harm, no foul.
I think that this system actually adds value to the games, rather than cheapening them. Games like Pillar are often seen in movie theatres, and arcades, and offer rewards if you win. I'm trying to do something similar with our free HTML5 games, and plan to integrate a similar system into our other games very soon.
